Following a day to remember on Sunday – claiming four races on the card including the last running of the Singapore Derby – Singapore-based trainer Daniel Meagher has confirmed that he will return to Aussie soil at the end of October, with his team to call Pakenham home.
The son of Melbourne Cup-winning trainer John Meagher will set up base in Pakenham once racing comes to an end at Kranji in October, with the new stable to start filling up with his Singapore stars including Lim’s Saltoro and Lim’s Kosciuszko – the gelding who has dominated Singapore racing since his arrival in 2021.
Meagher agrees that it will be interesting to see how his stars stack up against the talent down under. Admitting he’s always thought that Lim’s Kosciuszko could suit a Stradbroke Handicap but will get through the first season before knuckling down on plans.
