GIGA’S BACK BABY

Giga Kick made an impressive return to the trials this morning, after a year-long hiatus.

The Clayton Douglas trained gelding stepped out over 850m at Randwick in what a lot of us are looking at as a possible Everest prelude, with Lady of Camelot, Celestial Legend, Linebacker and Democracy Manifest joining the Everest-winning legend in the heat.

It is almost 12 months since Giga Kick has been in the public eye since being sidelined due to a nasty muscle tear the gelding obtained during his last run in the McEwen Stakes (1000m) at The Valley last September.

With James Mcdonald taking the ride, Giga Kick looked keen to chase Golden Slipper winner, Lady of Camelot as the pair broke away from their rivals to the line.

Lady Of Camelot held Giga Kick late by 1.3 lengths with Linebacker following in third place, 5.5 lengths away and Doncaster Handicap winner Celestial Legend not far behind in fourth.

Giga Kick will likely run first-up in the G3 Concorde Stakes with Lady Of Camelot to step out on the same day in the G1 Moir Stakes The Valley.
