DIVA’S LAST DEBUTANT

Makybe Diva’s 10th and final foal, Terrifictonka, is making her long-awaited debut at Kembla Grange this Saturday.

Makybe Diva, who celebrated her 26th birthday earlier this week at Flemington, was retired from stud duties in 2019 and has left an everlasting legacy on the tracks, with Terrifictonka looking to add to the family record books.

The 5-year-old mare has had her share of setbacks, including a back injury requiring a lengthy spell. But patience is a virtue, and for owner/breeder Tony Santic and trainer Clarry Conners, when you know you have the progeny of a legend in your hands, you give them the time they need.

Starting in Race 6 at Kembla Grange, over the 1600m with Jean Van Overmeire aboard, Conners is quietly confident but has plans to step her up in trip following her debut.

“It wouldn’t shock me (to win); the plan is to try and win.

“She’s coming along okay, and I think there’s a win in her. She’s a stayer for sure.”
