Luke is back with his very last Contender Vs. Pretender for 2025, this week being the Group 2 The Ingham ran over 1600m at Randwick.
Contender – Gringotts: He was my contender in the Gong, and he is again here. This horse just keeps turning up, wide alleys and heavy weights don’t stop him. From Barrier 7 this week it’s jump, lead, win, pretty simple maths. Anything around the $4 is yum.
Pretender – Imintowin: Strung a couple of nice wins together this prep, but Barrier 22 hurts. Being from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott yard, I imagine he will come out hot and try to lead which will be hard work. Even if he does get the lead, Gringotts and Port Lockroy will be right there to run him down.
