There’s was plenty of talk in the preseason if Haaland and Man City would hit the ground running, but with just 4 matches completed, the big Viking has slotted three times the number of goals than his nearest competitor (9)!
The ease at which he is finding the back of the net is also stagerring and beggars belief that the defensive lines at Brentford, West Ham, Ipswich and Chelsea allow him so much space. The biggest test to date comes this week against title contenders, (if there is one) Arsenal.
Mahomes Doing Mahomes Things
The pin up boy of the NFL, apologies to teammmate Travis Kelce, is showing no signs of a Superbowl hangover, with two wins to kick off season 2024/25.
The Chiefs scraped through against the Bengals 25-24 today, but Mahomes was still getting it done against one his biggest rivals in Joe Burrow. Mahomes tossed two touchdowns, including a 44 yard chuck to Rashee Rice. Mahomes opening game saw him throw for 291 yards, with 20 completions.
Zac’s Back
Fast becoming the world’s best jockey, Zac Purton has sent a fierce message to his counterparts, riding four winners at Sha Tin yesterday, which was off the back of his 4-timer on the opening day of the season. The question is often asked if anyone would get near Douglas Whyte’s record, but Zac is at the peak of his powers and the seven-time Champion jockey has already had the best start to any season, with nine winners from three meetings.
All this after a record breaking season which netted 179 winners.
